The Story Behind Our Organization
Started in 2000 to address a growing need for the community, LaFayette Community Council is a unique organization that offers a rewarding and engaging experience for participants. We understand and accept our responsibilities, which is why we offer inclusive programs that are accessible to individuals from every background, and continually strive to advance our mission.
LCC Board of Directors
Crystal Compton, president of LCC and Adult Programs Officer, is a LaFayette alumna of the class of 2007. She is mom to two boys, George is in 3rd grade and Charlie is in 1st, who have been enjoying every sport offered by LCC. Crystal is working on her Yoga Teacher Certification while she enjoys more time with her family, doing home projects.
Hillary Bevens is LCC’s clerk. She is in charge of rolling out our registrations, keeping the website up to date, and managing the behind the scenes paperwork. Hillary is a 2007 LaFayette alumna, mom of two busy boys (Samuel and Miles), and an 8-12 grade science teacher at Faith Heritage School
Kelly Pawliske is the treasurer of LCC. Having grown up in LaFayette, she recently moved back to her hometown with her husband to raise their 1st-grade son, Joey, naturally bringing her dedication as a mom into every facet of her life and community work. Professionally, Kelly works as a controller for a nonprofit organization in Syracuse, bringing valuable financial management experience to the LCC board. Outside of work, she is deeply passionate about health and wellness and community.
Caitlin Lundy, LCC board member, is a lifelong LaFayette resident and previous LCC participant. A graduate of Bishop Ludden and Norwich University, Caitlin is Mom of 3 girls (Iris, Arabella and Teagan). She is employed with the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office.
Courtney Diefendorf, LCC board member, is a lifelong resident of LaFayette and 2004 graduate. She is a third grade teacher at Grimshaw Elementary and has a son, Corbin, and daughter, Collins.
Lindsay Shapero, LCC board member, is a 2007 graduate of LaFayette. She currently works at VIP Structures and has two daughters. Lindsay will be specializing in sponsorships, event planning, and the Apple Festival.
Stephanie Loughlin, LCC board member, came back to the LaFayette community that her family has always been a part of. She is excited to give back to an organization that has kept her six children busy with several sports over the years. Stephanie will be specializing in sponsorships, event planning, and the Apple Festival.
Colleen Paige, LCC secretary, is a 2005 graduate of LaFayette. She returned to the LaFayette community with her husband John Paige. Colleen is an occupational therapist within the LaFayette Central School District while raising two daughters Morgan and Mary.
